I’ve learned that some broken things stay broken, and I’ve learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you.

Live the life you wish to, date the man you wish to date, and stop looking to your family for affirmation for the choices that you make. Life is full of risks. You can’t live your life in fear of how people will judge you for following your dreams.

This week, the Collective asks you to share your favorite quote. We loved today’s featured submission from a passionate supporter which highlights inspiring words from TWLOHA’s original story.

This quote (which I painted on my bedroom wall a few months ago) is one of my favorites, and is also the inspiration for the title of my blog! It is a quote by Renee Yohe, and can be found in To Write Love On Her Arms’ story page, written by Jamie Tworkowski.

Sometimes the past is something you just can’t let go of. And sometimes the past is something we’ll do anything to forget. And sometimes we learn something new about the past that changes everything we know about the present.

Today President Obama visited Newtown for a memorial service for the victims of Sandy Hook. While he was there he held the granddaughter of Principal Dawn Hochsprung who lost her life defending the children of her school. The Principal’s daughter shared this photo on Twitter and we thought it was so powerful that more people should see it too.
