We cannot change the past but moreover, we should not let the past change us; in ways that we may loose ourselves more than we already have.
The easiest way is to succumb to the pain and wallow in the things that we could have done differently. But if we let ourselves to continue drowning, nobody can really save us when we don’t really want to be saved.
How do we save ourselves? There is freedom, peace and our own personal hell. There is escape, liberation and a choice towards damnation. We can easily be self-destructive. We can be evil. Equally, we can be happy. We can live again.
Happiness is a choice. And I could not agree more.
When the ship sinks, we either drown or we swim. Drowning is the easiest way out. Swimming—now that takes courage and effort.
We can all say that things may “happen for a reason” or maybe, things just happen and there isn’t anything we could do about it. In the end, we just have to accept that things happen, whether there’s a reason or not.
We are all afraid. Fear, as much as hurt, is inevitable. It is about facing the unknown and just letting go.
There are infinite possibilities. Choices we could make. Roads we could travel. We just have to understand that “change” is absolute. One way or another, we just have to suck things up and grow up.
